Working within the funeral industry is something I have always wanted to do. Therefore I feel extremely privileged to be allowed to help and guide families through a very traumatic time in their lives.
Before joining the Scotmid team I was a self-employed dog groomer. Previous to that I worked in hospitality and catering, I enjoyed working in that industry as it allowed me to offer high-quality customer service and I was able to progress and learn new skills.
I am originally from Tranent but now live in Musselburgh with my partner Angus and our Yorkshire Terrier Ruby. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends, walking and camping whenever I can.
Darren Gunn
Funeral Manager
I have worked in the funeral industry since 1998, starting out as a funeral service operative and progressing to my current role of Funeral Manager. I am currently based at Forrester Park branch but also manage other branches in the Edinburgh area.
I am extremely passionate about my job and I am proud to be associated with Scotmid Funerals, I take great pride in my role and I am well known, valued and respected within the surrounding communities.
I live in Edinburgh with my wife and 3 children (2 boys and a girl)…… so life outside work is very busy too.
