We serve Leith Links, The Shore, Newhaven, Bonnington, Pilrig, Restalrig and the surrounding area, whether you need us today or you are planning ahead for the future.
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm for appointments, and we are always happy to visit you at home instead if that would be easier. There is plenty of parking available around Duke Street and Leith Links.
The funeral services we offer in Leith

Pre-paid funeral plans in Leith

I have worked with Scotmid Funerals as a Funeral Arranger since March 2012 and have been based in Duke Street Leith since July of that year. I was previously working part-time as an Administration Assistant and part-time with my Husband Painting and Decorating but felt I needed to be doing something that would help to make a difference in people’s lives and have a sense of job satisfaction.
When the opportunity to work in the funeral industry arose I knew it was what I had been looking for and I am still grateful to be doing a job I look forward to going to each day with no two days ever being the same.
I was born and raised in Joppa, Portobello where I loved growing up and had many summers spent on the beach and still love a walk along the seafront. I live in Portobello with my husband. We both love weekends and trips away to different places, live music, and movies. I enjoy working in the Leith area as it still has the feeling of being a community with lots of history and look forward to meeting the people who come through my door and share some of their stories with me.

I began working with Scotmid in 2000 as a Funeral Operative and progressed to Funeral Director, Senior Funeral Director and to my current role of Funeral Manager. I started at Fountainbridge then our main office and am now based at Angle Park.
Born and bred in Edinburgh I previously worked for The Department of Work and Pensions until I found my real passion in the Funeral Industry. What should I do first when someone dies in Leith?
Call us on 0131 555 5550 at any hour. We will bring your loved one into our care and talk you through the next steps, including registering the death. In Scotland a death must be registered within 8 days, and you can do this at any registration office in the country. You do not have to use the one nearest to where the person died.
Are you really available 24 hours a day?
Yes. Our Duke Street office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, but the telephone is answered by our own people around the clock, every day of the year, including Christmas and New Year.

Which crematorium would we use?
Most families we look after from Leith choose Warriston Crematorium, but we arrange funerals at Seafield, Mortonhall and every other crematorium in the area and further afield. If you have no preference we are happy to recommend one.
Can I arrange a funeral without coming into the office?
Yes. We can make all the arrangements by telephone, or visit you at home, whichever is easier for you. Many families find a home visit less daunting.
Do you offer help if we cannot afford the funeral?
Yes. We will always work to a budget you set, and we can help you apply for the Scottish Government’s Funeral Support Payment if you receive certain benefits. Please tell us early. There is more we can do at the start than at the end.
