Edinburgh’s seaside town of Portobello lies three miles east of the city centre. Our office is on the left as you head east through Portobello High Street. A car park can be found in Bridge Street.

Funeral Arranger
I have worked for Scotmid Co-operative Funeral Directors as a Funeral Arranger since 2011 and I find my role very rewarding as I am able to assist families during a very difficult time. It is gratifying when families return as it shows myself and the company to be fulfilling our role as a valued part of the community.
I am from Musselburgh and live with my partner Neil. Previously I worked in Clinical Radiology (CT/MRI) at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a Clinical Support Worker and also in the wards at the Western General Hospital.
Outside of work, I enjoy swimming and general exercise, photography, sketching/pastel work. In 2013 I completed the Pedal for Scotland in aid of Prostate Cancer Scotland and aim to take part again this year. I also enjoy walking, music and films.
Danielle Coyle
Funeral Director
Working within the funeral industry is something I have always wanted to do. Therefore I feel extremely privileged to be allowed to help and guide families through a very traumatic time in their lives.
Before joining the Scotmid team I was a self-employed dog groomer. Previous to that I worked in hospitality and catering, I enjoyed working in that industry as it allowed me to offer high-quality customer service and I was able to progress and learn new skills.
I am originally from Tranent but now live in Musselburgh with my partner Angus and our Yorkshire Terrier Ruby. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends, walking and camping whenever I can.
Chris Armstrong
Funeral Manager
I began working with Scotmid in 2000 as a Funeral Operative and progressed to Funeral Director, Senior Funeral Director and to my current role of Funeral Manager. I started at Fountainbridge then our main office and am now based at Angle Park.
Born and bred in Edinburgh I previously worked for The Department of Work and Pensions until I found my real passion in the Funeral Industry. I have never looked back and believe I am very lucky to hold such an important role in the local community. I find my role extremely rewarding when assisting families in their time of need.
