Our Forrester Park Drive funeral home
When we lose a loved one, the first call is often the hardest one to make. Our funeral home is on Forrester Park Drive, opposite Forrester High School and St Augustine’s RC High School, and there is always someone here to answer the phone. The area takes its name from the Forrester family of Corstorphine, who were local landowners. We have cared for families here for many years.
We care for families across Broomhouse, Forrester Park, Carrick Knowe, South Gyle, Saughton, Stenhouse, Parkhead, Sighthill and Corstorphine, whether you need us today or you are planning ahead for the future.
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm for appointments, and we are always happy to visit you at home instead if that would be easier. There is an on-site car park with a designated disabled parking space.

Funeral Arranger
I started my career in the funeral industry in 1997 and over the years, have enjoyed gaining experience in all areas of the business. I achieved Diploma qualifications in both Funeral Directing and Embalming before returning to my first love of Arranging. I am member of the professional bodies the B.I.F.D and the B.I.E.
I am passionate about learning and customer service, so wanted to pass on my extensive knowledge and experience to other like-minded individuals, which is why I went on to gain a qualification as a National Association of Funeral Directors Approved Tutor, and tutored others in the profession to gain qualifications within the industry.
Before my employment in the funeral industry, I worked in Banking and Insurance which is where I developed my skills in customer care. I am very humbled and privileged in being entrusted by families to help them through their difficult times.
I live in West Edinburgh with my husband and cat and enjoy good food and good company, although at the weekend, I prefer to be away with my family exploring “Bonnie Scotland” in our campervan.

I have worked in the funeral industry since 1998, starting as a funeral service operative and progressing to my current role as Funeral Manager. I am currently based at the Forrester Park branch but also manage other branches in the Edinburgh area.
I am extremely passionate about my job and I am proud to be associated with Scotmid Co-operative, I take great pride in my role and I am well-known, valued and respected within the surrounding communities.
I live in Edinburgh with my wife and 3 children (2 boys and a girl)…… so life outside work is very busy too.
The funeral services we offer in Broomhouse
Every funeral we arrange from Forrester Park is different, because every family is. These are the main choices families make with us:
- Cremation funerals: a full service at a church, chapel or crematorium, followed by the committal. Most families we care for choose Mortonhall Crematorium.
- Burial funerals: a service followed by burial in a local cemetery. We can help you buy a new lair or arrange interment in an existing family lair.
- Direct cremation: an unattended cremation with no service, from £1,449. Many families then hold their own memorial gathering later, in their own time.
- Simple funeral: everything you need for a dignified service and nothing you do not, from £2,199.
- Children’s funerals: we make no charge for our services when a child is lost, and crematorium and burial fees for children are met by the Scottish Government.
- Pre-paid funeral plans: arrange and pay for your own funeral now, at today’s prices.

We arrange funerals at every local crematorium and cemetery. From Forrester Park, the ones families choose most often are:
Crematoria: Mortonhall Crematorium, Warriston Crematorium and Seafield Crematorium. You can find contact details for all the crematoria we work with on our local crematoriums page.
Cemeteries: Corstorphine Hill Cemetery, Saughton Cemetery and Corstorphine Cemetery, among others. If you have a family lair elsewhere we will arrange the funeral there. Distance is not a problem.

What should I do first when someone dies in Broomhouse?
Call us on 0131 334 7308 at any hour. We will bring your loved one into our care and talk you through the next steps, including registering the death. In Scotland a death must be registered within 8 days, and you can do this at any registration office in the country. You do not have to use the one nearest to where the person died.
Are you really available 24 hours a day?
Yes. Our Forrester Park office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, but the telephone is answered by our own people around the clock, every day of the year, including Christmas and New Year.

Most families we look after from Forrester Park choose Mortonhall Crematorium, but we arrange funerals at every crematorium in the area and further afield. If you have no preference we are happy to recommend one.
Which areas does the Forrester Park funeral home cover?
We care for families across the west of Edinburgh, including Broomhouse, Carrick Knowe, South Gyle, Saughton, Stenhouse, Parkhead and Corstorphine. If you are closer to Clermiston, Sighthill or Slateford, one of our other funeral homes may be more convenient.
Can I arrange a funeral without coming into the office?
Yes. We can make all the arrangements by telephone, or visit you at home, whichever is easier for you. Many families find a home visit less daunting.
Do you offer help if we cannot afford the funeral?
Yes. We will always work to a budget you set, and we can help you apply for the Scottish Government’s Funeral Support Payment if you receive certain benefits. Please tell us early. There is more we can do at the start than at the end.
