Our Clermiston funeral director’s office can be found behind the Drumbrae library hub, next to our Scotmid food store. There is parking available next to the office.

Funeral Director
I started working with the Scotmid Funeral team in February 2022, as a Roving Funeral Arranger, which meant providing cover for any of our 16 offices across Edinburgh and the Central Belt. I take great pride in my job, and love being able to help families through a very difficult time. I now have a permanent base in the Clermiston office to call home.
I previously worked for 14 years with the Scottish Ambulance service in various roles, but achieved Technician status in 2011. I think this role has helped me transfer my skills in the funeral business as I am very much a “people person”.
I have always lived in Edinburgh and have been married to the better half now for 25 years. My hobbies include Amdram where I have met some fabulous friends, and I am also a member of a darts team which is a great night (when the team wins of course).
Chris Armstrong
Funeral Arranger
I began working with Scotmid in 2000 as a Funeral Operative and progressed to Funeral Director, Senior Funeral Director and to my current role of Funeral Manager. I started at Fountainbridge then our main office and am now based at Angle Park.
Born and bred in Edinburgh I previously worked for The Department of Work and Pensions until I found my real passion in the Funeral Industry. I have never looked back and believe I am very lucky to hold such an important role in the local community. I find my role extremely rewarding when assisting families in their time of need.
